Cityscape Garden Design was founded by Jean Thomas after graduating from Capel Manor College with a diploma in garden design. Based in North London, Cityscape specialises in creating beautiful urban gardens. In such an environment, space and light is often a precious commodity and a garden needs to be enjoyed and look good 365 days a year. By combining plants which perform throughout each season with sensitive hard landscaping, Cityscape aims to bring out the garden's full potential whilst reflecting our client's needs.
Cityscape Garden Design can provide everything from a complete redesign service, to pre-sale garden makeovers, planting plans and design consultancy. In particular Cityscape offers a personal shopping service to garden centres and nurseries together with advice on plant selection. CITYSCAPE GARDEN DESIGN AT THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2008
Jean Thomas helped to create the River and Rowing Museum's Ratty's Refuge Garden at the 2008 Chelsea Flower Show, which won a bronze medal. The garden celebrated the 100th birthday of Kenneth Grahame's classic book The Wind in the Willows, the star of which is Ratty, a water vole. As a contemporary urban garden using naturalistic planting, it created a green refuge for people and wildlife and aimed to inspire gardeners who live near water to help save the water vole, one of the UK's most endangered mammals.
